This is my current build for running archon

I also have some built in macros ill have below , but i wanted to share the build for those who might wonder what i thought of a good utility build for a mage since they arent terribly popular .

Its very odd because they are very simple to play . most of all as long as your paying attention to the 5 minute timer on your buffs its easy mode .

Here's how to run it .

Your gonna need your spam macro , so lets build that first .

now to to the button should be searing vitality you will want to cast this once in a while too to keep your HP up

so my numbers bar looks like this

1 Searing vitality 2 Archon Macro 3 Ashen defense 4 crumbling resistance 5 lingering dust 6 burning purpose 7 tempered armor 8 arcane aegis 9 vitality of stone and 0 shared vigor - rockslide

now these are the big player spells , they are :

1 & 2 : these are you most cast . Obviously the Spam macro you just keep tapping through out the fight but it helps to toss up the searing vitality when you have noticed it has fallen .

3, 4 , & 5 : are your targeted debuffs , these you will want to put on a target before spamming them . it keeps your stats refreshed and raises the damage your doing as well

6 -> 0 : these are the 5 minute buffs , and the whole reason raids need you , now these are hear so that actually at the 3 minute marker you can cycle through them and go back to spamming . A major mistake archons can make is when they see they are putting out decent dps , they loose focus and their buffs drop

- :  rockslide eats charge But gives you a significant Int most per stack you can land on your target . Int = damage so its not NEEDED , but it is handy once you can get used to keeping it up on yourself . 

Now on another bar above the numbers your going to want a few utilities .

Waning power (use this everytime its up on a boss ) Flaring power ( says it has a 2 minute cool down , but leaves a 5 min debuff so no one with the debuff can receive the effect again ) Power drain ( eats charge , but ups your damage and lowers theirs ) Fire armor ( +5% fire damage so casting it before a fight helps your dps ) cleansing flames , purification ( both remove effect) transmogrify ( makes bad things Squirrels ) and reflective command ( if timed right , shoots one damaging spell back at its evil host)

now the utilites are nice , but the real core to the archon is the macro and the numbers . so use what your comfortable with and read everything you have to really learn it .

However the numbers bar with the macro will get you through and archon needs in a raid .
